The Story:

Join us in the land of Mirhanan, a beautiful but chaotic world, born of the death of two very different worlds before her.

Our story begins in two parallel universes. One is home to the planet Janeth Prime, full of scientific wonders and miracles of technology. In the other is the planet Thislan, a haven for all things fantastic and arcane. Each planet was nearing its own global utopia, and at the same moment, each found what they thought would finally solve all of their remaining problems- a seemingly endless energy source. At the same moment, in two universes, two planets tapped into this energy source for the first time.

In one single, fateful instant, The Collapse changed everything. Reality tore, universes collided, and the two worlds were violently battered together, creating waves of destruction as they moved over and into one another. Forests and cities were leveled and storms devastated the land and sea. The air itself quaked as Janeth Prime and Thislan were ripped apart and recombined into something new, something unknown....

In the days following The Collapse, conflict reigned. The people of Thislan had never seen the firepower and advanced destructive capabilities of the technology that Janeth Prime forces wielded. Conversely, the arcane and erratic magics used by Thislan were straight out of a nightmare for the citizens of Janeth Prime. Whether or not the magic and technology continued to work–and how well it worked– depended on where and when the encounter occurred on the rapidly shifting landscape. It was often an unpleasant surprise for both parties in the skirmishes, as arcane arts and technology traded power unpredictably, making any advantage temporary.

As time passed, however, new powers emerged. Technology, though hindered, adapted and reconfigured. Magic, albeit scarred, regrew and branched out. Mages found they could deliver their spells with frightening accuracy using firearms. Scientists could create potions that surpassed any serum synthesized before.

It was not long before war brought this patchwork world to the brink of destruction. It was also geologically unstable, the shards of two worlds shifting and settling, constantly threatening to come apart altogether. The children of the new world –children who had been born and raised in conflict and decided collectively that they had had Enough of War– began their fight for a hard-won peace.

They created Mirhanan as we know it at the Accords. The history books paint an idyllic picture of the Accords, the cease fire, and the saving of the planet, but it was not so. The creation of Mirhanan as a society was as messy as the creation of their world, and there is still much to be done. The planet is now pinned together by the Anchors, and is still a roiling world of uncertainty, but the people are resilient, adaptable, and have created a sustainable life out of the destruction of The Collapse.
